Technical Description

The A7X is a studio monitor (SM) produced by Adam Audio in Berlin, Germany. SMs are commonly used by music, film, and television producers when recording, editing, or evaluating sound. SMs are not home stereo speakers—SMs are designed to accurately reproduce sound across a short distance—so they are not typically used for casual listening.

Physical Characteristics

The exterior of the A7X consists of: a dark grey rectangular cabinet, which measures 33.7 cm high, 20.1 cm wide, and 28 cm deep (13.5” x 8” x 11”); a 5.6 cm tweeter (a small 2” speaker); a 17.5 cm woofer (a large 7” speaker); and various control panels located on the front and back. A single A7X weighs 9.2 kg (20.3 lbs).

Project Status Report

Construction costs ran 10% over budget during week five, and the podcast recording studio is currently one week behind schedule. The construction and legal teams advise that the project may not be completed according to the original schedule without additional resources; full detail will be provided in the January 20 status report.

Progress Report

We have been tasked with compiling all of the safety information that relates to hazardous materials found on the ABC Company work site. We have researched all of the relevant hazard warning symbols, SDS, and safety information that will be required to create a comprehensive, compliant, training system for employees.

Per Health Canada’s guidelines, when a hazardous product is used in the workplace, employers are required to:

  • Ensure that hazardous products are properly labelled.

  • Prepare workplace labels, as needed.

  • Prepare SDSs, as necessary (e.g., if an employer manufactures a hazardous product that is used on-site).

  • Provide access to up-to-date SDSs to workers.

  • Ensure appropriate control measures are in place to protect the health and safety of workers.

Recommendation Report

The Technical Writing Program Committee was formed with the mandate to create a program that satisfies the requirements set by the Maritime Provinces Higher Education Commission (MPHEC) (Fig.1), The Canadian Information Centre for International Credentials (CICIC), and the Dalhousie University Academic Programs Subcommittee.
